Project description

In 1972, AC Plastiques Canada (now Plasticon Canada Inc.) supplied 500m worth of 12” Ø dual laminate pipes for a hydrometallurgical plant. In fact, this was the first time PVC/FRP pipes were used at this hydrometallurgical plant and for this type of application.

The project was so successful that in 1989, 17 years later, more 12” Ø pipes were purchased. Since then, the dual laminate piping system has been exposed to harsh operating conditions and a corrosive environment.

The PVC-lined pipes are still in operation as of 2015 - 43 years later!

Dual laminate is perfect for handling most chemicals and corrosive products. It offers a longer service life, corrosion resistance and greater cost savings than most metallic options.
